Based on a wrong tip from Salvamont we decided to climb from Sinaia up to Piatra Arsa chalet on the direct trail . However above Poiana Regala the snow became perilously high; a new call to Salvamont convinced us that reaching the chalet was not possible so we continued climbing until we felt that it wasn't safe anymore then we turned back. All the time (some 5 hours) we've got as company two anonymous dogs from Sinaia which joined us at the start.
