Far away is visible the Northern Rim; the distance is about 20 kilometers.
Also very clearly visible are the geological strata which were dug by the
river. Some erode verically and others in a slope, depending on the rock
type. The gray slopes are in fact greenish - it's the color of the dry
plants which partially cover them.
