It was fifteen minutes past seven, somewhere between Voina and Intre
Vai, where the Cuca and Batrana valleys split. Funny collection of
five trail markings on this electricity pole; they are:
Red triangle - the trail which I took, to Batrana peak on the main ridge
via Plaiul lui Patru.
Yellow triangle - climbs via Cuca chalet to Saua Gradisteanu then
descends on Cascue to Dambovita valley, then climbs again in Piatra Craiului;
Blue stripe - also to Dambovita valley but further north, via Papusa peak
and mount Dracsin;
Blue point - to Iezer refuge following valley Iezerul Mic;
Blue cross - also to the refugee but by Piciorul Iezerului Mare.
