The trail that connects the southern entrance of the tunnel to the Caltun Lake (marked with a blue cross) is not widely used, despite its beauty. In the beginning it takes place on the gentle and grassy slopes of the Paltinu mountain going southwards; nice views towards the final part of the Transfagarasn road and to the southern ridge Piscu Negru - Jorzea.

In the center of the shot one can see the Cota 2000 Chalet; behind it, cutting the mountain diagonally, is visible the tourist path, marked with blue stripe, which climbs from the Capra Chalet to the Capra Lake.
