From Busteni we climbed Valea Cerbului to the mouth of Caldarilor valley at an altitude of some 1740m then continued on Caldarilor valley . At an elevation of some 1850m half of te group decided to give up and turn back while the remaining four continued the climb to an elevation of 2210m, just below the Babele - Omu trail . We descended the same route ; to Poiana Costilei then took right to Caminul Alpin .
