As seen from Dante Peak. The white visible on the valley floor is made of mineral deposits; the mountains opposite are much higher and are dominated by Telescope Peak at 3368m, some 2000m higher than the spot where I was. At over 3000m one can see bits of snow too! Altrough it was December the 8th the temperature where I was standing (1650m high) was some 10 degrees Celsius and in the valley there were 20-25 degrees.
