5. A mule train (443 kB) [Index] - [<<] - [>>] - [All for September 27th, 2004] - []
The only way of transporting material, supplies and people to and from the Phantom Ranch, the cabin which lies at water level on the bottom of the canyon, are the mule trains. I meet two of them, one when going down (seen here in the picture) and another when going up. I don't know why the supplies aren't being sent by water? Apparently would be simpler. If I wouldn't have known that the animals are mules I would have said them to be horses. The two people really looked like... cowboys. This train was going up; probably was carrying away the refuse from the Phantom Ranch.
